Listen to the Wind Hit the Trees and Find a Personal Message of Inspiration

The wind flows through the leaves smoothly with a natural sound. Listening to it can relieve anxiety and humiliation, wash away confusion and impurity, expand the spirit and lighten the heart, make one feel peaceful and contemplative, and cause one to wander free through the skies. Getting close to nature can bring personal inspiration.

If you listen closely, what you hear may be very personal because it is a feeling rather than a thought. The sounds of kids playing in the park jumping on racked leaves. The sounds of leaves crunching beneath your feet as you walk with a loved one. Storytelling is a way to evoke feelings that the words can draw out and then trigger a range of emotions, from curiosity and excitement to empathy and trust.

Types of Feelings and Emotions

Why is Wisdom Important

Feeling inspired daily can be vital to unlocking creativity, increasing productivity, and boosting happiness. People who regularly feel inspired at home and work tend to be more engaged, confident, and motivated to solve problems and create new things. Inspiration leads to knowledge and that leads to wisdom.

Wisdom is a quality that is often associated with age and experience. It is the ability to make sound judgments and decisions based on knowledge and understanding of the world. Wisdom is not just about having a lot of information but also about knowing how to apply that information in practical ways. It involves seeing the big picture and understanding the interconnectedness of things. Wisdom comes after knowledge and experience and is earned over time, requiring humility and self-awareness. Ultimately, wisdom is about living a life guided by compassion, kindness, and understanding principles.

Doing good, understanding truth, and making good choices require wisdom. Without wisdom, you can’t live the truth because it is the application of truth to life.

You can’t be good, righteous, just, honest, or trustworthy unless you have wisdom. It is one thing to know the Ten Commandments. It is another to apply those commandments in our daily life.

"It is a characteristic of wisdom not to do desperate things."

Henry David Thoreau

Where is our "Desert of Truth" and do we walk there for a purpose?

The song “The River of Dreams by Billy Joel” focuses on the issues about life confronting the person who has lost something precious that they cannot remember. The singer tells us:

“In the middle of the night, I go walking in my sleep, through the desert of truth, to the river so deep.”

The “river” represents something that must be crossed to find spiritual fulfillment. It is an obstacle preventing him from reaching this goal, and he has to travel it to
find out what he’s been looking for. He seems to seek life’s true meaning, but his search will eventually end in the ocean, perhaps in the afterlife.

Inspiration comes as truth for the seeker who seeks the issues about life confronting them, blind to everything else. We hear the song, and it becomes our truth.

Why didn’t it find us first? Was it because we didn’t seek? Does inspiration play favorites picking only a few, or are only a few able to search as if in a dream?

In the middle of the night

I go walking in my sleep

From the mountains of faith

To the river so deep

I must be looking for something

Something sacred I lost

But the river is wide

And it's too hard to cross

Even though I know the river is wide

I walk down every evening and I stand on the shore

I try to cross to the opposite side

So I can finally find out what I've been looking for

In the middle of the night

I go walking in my sleep

Through the valley of fear

To a river so deep

I've been searching for something

Taken out of my soul

Something I'd never lose

Something somebody stole

I don't know why I go walking at night

But now I'm tired and I don't want to walk anymore

I hope it doesn't take the rest of my life

Until I find what it is that I've been looking for

In the middle of the night

I go walking in my sleep

Through the jungle of doubt

To a river so deep

I know I'm searching for something

Something so undefined

That it can only be seen

By the eyes of the blind

In the middle of the night

I'm not sure about a life after this

God knows I've never been a spiritual man

Baptized by the fire, I wade into the river

That runs to the promised land

In the middle of the night

I go walking in my sleep

Through the desert of truth

To the river so deep

We all end in the ocean

We all start in the streams

We're all carried along

By the river of dreams

In the middle of the night

Using perspective to finding art and Inspiration in the neighborhood

Inspiration can come from a book, a mentor, your family, a celebrity, an author - literally anyone! It can even come from inspiring signs and art in the neighborhood.

Electrical Power Switch Cabinets or power boxes are not intended to inspire, and they usually are just green, but the High School Art classes painted them, offering inspiration to us all.

Art influences neighborhoods and society by changing opinions, instilling values, and translating experiences across space and time. Art in this sense is communication; it allows people from different cultures and different times to communicate with each other via images, sounds, and stories. Art is often a vehicle for social change. It inspires us because it can provide us with imaginative links to parts of ourselves that might otherwise be inaccessible.

All severe art, has content under its surface and is nothing more or less than a reflective impression of the person who experiences it. The viewer of the art determines the true perspective.

Finding good in others lets you see the good in yourself

If you try to see the “Best in Others,” you will have to give up the false ideal of perfection. Perhaps, recognizing goodness requires us to accept human nature, flaws, and all. Every person has something to teach us if we listen. Even negative people offer us a mirror to view our imperfections and strengths.

If you find good in yourself when you look for it in others, you have found a way to find inspiration. You will now need to go forward and look for the good in others.

Finding good in others can bring about self-improvement and help you gain self-confidence. Sometimes you find the good while your doing good and taking actions that will benefit others rather than yourself.

What a small price to pay. Just look for the good in others. You won’t find it unless you give up the idea of perfection. People are not perfect, so you have to overlook imperfections to find good.

Being around trees reduces stress

Did you know that spending time around trees can positively impact your health and well-being? Studies have shown that both exercising in forests and simply sitting and looking at trees can reduce stress, lower blood pressure, and improve mood by reducing the stress-related hormones cortisol and adrenaline.

Furthermore, research conducted by the Royal Horticultural Society has demonstrated that plants respond to human agents, indicating that they are more communicative and responsive than we previously thought. Trees, in particular, are "social creatures" that communicate with each other in cooperative ways, offering valuable lessons for humans.

Speaking of trees, painter Bob Ross used to refer to them as "happy little trees" while painting them, and it's not hard to see why - looking at a picture of happy trees has been found to boost mood and bring a smile to your face!
