Most of us move through life asking, Do I matter? But here’s the better question: Does your universe see you?
It does—every day—because you create it in the way you think, speak, and act. The real challenge isn’t whether the world notices you… it’s whether you truly see yourself.
I’ve always been drawn to two traits in people: intellect and goodness. Sometimes you meet someone who shines in one of these ways. Every so often, you meet someone who carries both—and they leave a rare kind of imprint.
When I look back over the people I’ve known—those who’ve shaped my path and those whose role was brief but meaningful—I notice something. More often than not, it is goodness that comes to mind first.
Goodness doesn’t shout. It doesn’t seek attention or claim superiority. Its strength lies in how it’s woven into everyday actions—a kindness in conversation, a gesture of patience, a willingness to listen.
Intellect often stands apart. It can dazzle. It can solve problems no one else sees. But it doesn’t always saturate a person’s whole life. I’ve met brilliant minds whose insight didn’t quite extend into every choice, relationship, or moment of character.
For me, goodness leaves the deeper mark. It feels like the truest essence of a person—woven into their identity, not just displayed when circumstances call for it. And maybe that’s why, when I think about the kind of life I want to live, I hope it’s goodness that others notice first.
What about you? When you think of the people who’ve shaped your life, are they remembered more for the sharpness of their mind or the warmth of their heart?
